We had a wonderful time visiting our family in Washington this Christmas. Everyone was able to come this year which made it a packed house (15 people!). It was so nice to be home and visit with everyone. It was the first time many of my family member met Ben. I was so happy to finally see my older sister Amy all cute and pregnant (she was 7 months at the time) & and was thrilled to hear my brother Eric & his wife to be are expecting in August!
Who could ever beat this little smile?
David enjoying his new trains.
Dad was glad to have the whole famdamly home.
Auntie Chris and Ben bonding.

Lisa’s doggie Hani. He and Ben were crazy about each other. I came this close to stealing this little one!
Me and Ben at the cabin
This photo of David was also taken at our family cabin. (located near Mt. Rainier) There was quite a bit of snow up there. David had a ball playing in it!
Chuck scoping out the snowfall at the cabin.
David & I took a walk around my parents’ neighborhood one day. It was chilly but beautiful outside.

David and Ben went trick or treating with friends Dillon and Lauren this year. David was a dinosaur, Ben a lobster, Dillon a monkey and Lauren a butterfly.
The usual suspects…….
Vicious lobster on the prowl.
Thank goodness the monkey survived the attack.
Waiting for the rain to let up so we can go get candy already!!!!
Sharing the loot.

We celebrated Lisa’s 30th birthday in Maui. Chuck bought her an ice cream cake, because we all know how much Lisa loves ice cream!!
The day before her birthday Lisa and I took a sunrise downhill bikeride down Maui’s Haleakala Crater. I thought it would be a great way to begin her third decade here on planet earth.
Below is an image of Lisa and I waiting for sunrise. I think the combination of the cold and getting up at 2am revved up our giggle boxes pretty hard. Hopefully we didn’t annoy the other sunrise viewers too much.
Sunrise over the crater.
Warming up on the way down.
We took a long time on the way down stopping to see all the sights. By far we were the last ones back to the bike shop.
Beautiful Upcountry Maui! I love it!

We had a great time in Maui, especially with “Auntie Lisa” along for the ride.
Below are images of us at the Maui Ocean Center. I think out of everyone Ben enjoyed it the most. He was squealing with delight nearly the whole time we were there.
Lisa atop the beautiful Haleakala Crater.
We forgot how cold it can get up there (it is over 10,000 ft.) so we had to improvise with the children’s attire. David got a kick out of wearing Auntie Lisa’s sweater.
Lisa and me on the North Shore of Maui. Good times!
